Target Global IT Architecture

Target Global IT Architecture 394 273 ASPIRO

Narrative description of the supervised Project:

ESET, spol. s r.o.  is one of the global leaders in the antivirus software market. The Bratislava-based company, with its major offices in Prague, Czech Rep., USA, Argentina, Singapore, Australia and UK is represented in more than 180 countries around the world. ESET has been one of the fastest growing technology companies in the EMEA region according to Deloitte Technology Fast 500.

As part of implementing its growth strategy, ESET needed to define a reference global IT architecture with primary focus on business support systems.

ESET manages various operating levels and territories that have grown organically in recent years. The aim was to consolidate these local driven IT deployments into IT platforms and exploit advantage of their centralized management and scalability where feasible. Aspiro was asked to conduct a global system assessment and define target IT architecture across ESET that should serve as a reference for future decision making related to core business systems.

The project was carried out globally across all regions including South & North America, EMEA and APAC. Aspiro team tapped on the expert knowledge of ESET’s team members to get full understanding and specifics of ESET. This was then combined with Aspiro in-house expertise to design target business domain model and target global application architecture including recommended implementation steps.

Description of actual services provided by the staff within the assignment:

Aspiro assessed span and depth of currently used business support systems and helped ESET to define target global application architecture, balancing the need for centralization / standardization against benefits of flexibility of local solutions.

In 5-month time the team delivered on activities ranging from requirements collection and operation level comparisons through architecture design and definition of application standard for new offices to implementation roadmap preparation.

In more details the project was organized around four main activities:

  • Collection of business requirements for IT domains (CRM / PRM, Portal Applications, Service Activation, Service Assurance, ERP / Financial System and BI) consolidated across offices, regions and selected distributors
  • Business domains coverage per operating level
  • Designing of global IT architecture concept covering IT systems rollout to new ESET offices and deployment approach
  • Preparation of implementation roadmap around key changes and definition of the implementation initiatives.

Client testimonial:

“Aspiro brought their know-how and expertise from various strategic projects & industries and demonstrated a very good understanding of the required scope and our needs. The project outcomes will be further used as a reference through-out the ongoing process of business systems consolidation and new deployments and thus contribute to meeting our expected business targets.”
